OUR HISTORY
Our roots go back over 165 years ago to 1842, when our forebearer, McKillop, Walker & Co., a global collection, credit reporting, and mercantile firm, was founded in New York City. In the early 1930s, the company was purchased by George C. Bluestone, a local New York attorney, who focused on expanding the firm's international clientele, and created the platform upon which today's wholly contingent commission basis recovery services firm is based.
Over the next 50 years, the law firm developed an international reputation for its specialization in representing overseas creditors as diverse as English banks, Dutch dairy cooperatives, Indian exporters, Scandinavian manufacturers and Swiss boarding schools.
In 1987, George Bluestone's son, Stephen L. Bluestone relocated the firm to the Washington D.C. area.
Our CEO and Managing Director is Stephen L. Bluestone, who has been at the forefront of international debt recovery since 1987. As head of the firm, Mr. Bluestone is well known by banking groups, companies and governments involved in overseas debt recovery. He is a former chairman and director of a global network of independent collection agencies and law firms and presided over its annual conferences in Amsterdam, Dublin, and Buenos Aires.
Mr. Bluestone meets regularly with clients and debtors throughout the world, and often speaks to both domestic and international organizations on various debt recovery topics.
