MINH NGOC T. NGUYEN
Ms. Nguyen heads the Firm's international litigation department, handling litigation on domestic matters for foreign clients as well as managing foreign attorneys and agents in relation to foreign litigation matters. She represents the Firm's clients, including foreign corporations and foreign and domestic government clients, in complex litigation involving a wide range of commercial matters. Her experience includes U.S. federal court litigation, foreign court litigation, domestic and international arbitration, and international and comparative law policy matters. She has handled cases relating to admiralty law, Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, letter of credit transactions, and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods ("CISG").
Ms. Nguyen is also the compliance manager for the Firm, producing office guidelines regarding internal procedures as well as legal compliance. In her advisory role to the Firm's agents around the world, she regularly handles queries relating to U.S. law, including substantive law relating to claims, applicable collections laws, and U.S. regulations and laws affecting foreign companies. She has drafted white papers on various issues such as U.S. Law HR 3448, Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002 - Bioterrorism Act; Bankruptcies and Secured Instruments in Latin America; and Credit Applications and Credit Agreements in Mexico.
Ms. Nguyen was a law clerk for the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia from 1999-2000. During law school, she was an associate on the International Law Review, during which time she wrote her note on the Uniform Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Money Judgments, and an editor on the American University Human Rights Brief.
